Early Thanksgiving

My little brother is going to university. We never thought this was possible. It’s a huge accomplishment for him, and a positive testament to what happens when a village works. I think it’s important to take a moment and reflect, as something great is about to happen, on all that was part of bringing us to this point. It’s a unique time after the pull of hope has become strong enough to make a difference, but before it becomes so familiar as to be unnoticable. So congrats, little brother, you’ve come so far.

Rebirth

Possibly bifurcation, Aug 25

Did it really rain,
Or did they film a rain scene?
Sometimes I can't tell.

Bifurcation, Aug 21

Who killed the rooster,
Replaced it with an alarm,
Wrapped both in plastic?

July 24, The Citadel

Circuses on stage:
First a real one, on stunt bikes,
Lights up silent fort.

July 18

Quiet, warm mornings
We wander not far from dreams
Just barely talking.

July 10

Wearing tiredness
From last night like a secret
She missed her train.

CanaDay, July 3

On Canada Day
Everyone's from somewhere else,
Sings like refugees.
